How do i get norton antivirus 2008 to open up?

i recently installed norton antivirus onto my hp laptop a a couple months ago. it had been working fine until about a week ago. now it won't open up when i click on it. live update still works and norton shows up in the taskbar, but it just doesn't open

Nortons is a hugh resource hog and the reason good be that you don't have enough memory in your PC, if you have installed new software since installing Nortons.

You can also have what is known as an "application hang", where the program will not open. If you don't see a Microsoft error then you can rule out "application hang".

Perhaps you may want to consider going to add/remove and reinstalling Nortons, provided that you hafe the registration key if you purchased, or if Nortons is still being evaluated before you need to purchase.

Norton uses a lot of memory. Depending on how much RAM is installed in your laptop, it could take a while (2-5 minutes) to launch the program. Many people don't like Norton - one reason being that it uses up a lot of memory.
