How can I fix the alert 'Buffer Overrun Blocked!' from McAfee Antivirus? |
I just downloaded a DVDRip file from net through Bittorrent client. Whenever I try to open this particular file with WMPlayer McAfee produces alert 'Buffer Overrun Blocked !' The system file that McAfee shows for buffer overrun is C:\windows\system32\dllhost.exe. But after clicking 'close this alert' I can play it fine. If it is affected by malwares or others, why can I still play it? Is there anyway to escape without deleting the file? http://pcworld.about.com/magazine/2306p0... A buffer overflow is a sure fire way for hackers to gain access to your system, especially on unix systems, but presumably on windoze machines as well. |
