MySpace proxies (not requesting them, read inside for important security info)?

Not satisfied with the few school goers that initially saw it, I started responding to all the MySpace proxy requests by referring them to that, telling them it contained a lot of good proxies. I got to say, keep the hate mail coming. This is so funny!

But I observed something else. A lot of people were responding to the proxy questions too, providing actual proxy addresses. Usually the same ones. My question is, are people aware that when they use a proxy all of their personal data is routed through it, and that the proxy owner is entirely capable of copying and viewing all of the information they work on, and possibly identifying them? Ask yourself: what incentive do these people have to assist you in bypassing school security filters?

Thanks Prolly. Didn't know that. Still, if usernames and passwords are sent across as cleartext, I'm sure some might want that info.

I believe the incentive is the revenue generated by ads. Proxy owners displays ads on proxified pages. They don't really care about the information passed in the server.
