Somthing scaning my computer called xp antivirus? |
It says I have 52 viruses spy ware etc and then it suggests i buy a program firewall etc for 54.00 i cant get rid of it and my coputer is acting slow and erratic can I get rid of the problem without spending money, how? XP Antivirus is a rogue program with misleading results; you don't really 52 infections, you only have one... the trojan that brought XP Antivirus into your system. I had similar problem, and I did what Henry Jensen suggested, and it worked, Download Spyware Doctor in the Google Pack. There is probably no problem, just a scam that you get if you go to a cetain wesite. Use Adaware to kill it. In the rare occasion that it doesnt use Spybot SD. I've never heard of that anti-virus software. If you have norton or mcaffee etc. run a scan with that and see what it tells you. Otherwise i'd give your computer manuacturer a call just to be safe. Man.... That sucks, thats actually whats giving you the virus. A virus that acts as an antivirus and then tries to charge you for the full version to clean itself. I would try to use AVG or AVAST. Also you can download Norton and use it as a trial to delete the viruses. Try the first two. One last way is to actually google the name of the program, sometimes you can find guides on how to get rid of it.... Good luck You're infected with some malware. Probably adware to be specific. reboot the whole computer, reinstall window. most likely you may have to have a computer tech come out and work on it. XPAntiVirus is the suspect anti-spyware that includes a set of features which do not work, and generates false positives to trick users, forcing them to buy commercial version of this software. XPAntiVirus may be dangerous for your computer, causing system errors and slowdowns. This misleading program can be installed manually or through browser security holes (using trojan horses or worms, installed on your computer). It also hijacked the homepage to obscure websites, sometimes with adult content. Remember that XPAntiVirus is unable to remove spyware and viruses! |
