I need help from someone who has avast!!!?

ok well i need to know how to tell if avast is really off and how to shut it off (i think i know how 2 but it tells me error) and at the bottom of my screen, the globe has a red sign on it if that helps

nvr mind how do you know if you deleted it off your computer completely?

I used to have avast, but I got rid of it after doing one scan because it likes to run a lot of stuff in the background.

Here is what you can do to shut it off and make sure it is off.

Hit CNTRL + ALT + and DELETE all at the same time.
Just do it once.
You will see a screen, depending on your operating system, but select "Start Task Manager"

Click on the tab that says "Processes"
Under the column that says "Description" look for things that have "avast" in them.
Select them (you can only do one at a time) and hit the "End Process" tab in the bottom right hand corner.
It will show you a message asking if you are sure that you want to end it. Select yes, and it will close the program right away.

right click the avast icon in the taskbar and choose "stop on-access protection". The red symbol on the icon means the services have stopped. check by opening a program.. if the icon does not animate.. it really is off.

sounds off to me click on the red globe an see if it changes to another color green is go sorry i use norton 360 oh look in the help on ur program should have instructions in it
