How do i password protect my folders and files in vista? |
but the only thing is... is i would like to do it without using any software... is there any way to do so? Windows does not include a built-in method of password protecting your folders and files. If your looking for a free program to password protect your files and folders I recommend Truecrypt. Use the adminstration rights for yourself and create a password. Anyone logging in would need the password to open up your personal desktop. You can also create another account so anyone can use your computer without seeing any of your files. use with Great Caution "EFS" You can use a freeware called Super Hider { http://autosysbot.googlepages.com/superh... }. It can superhide or show the files or folders you mention. It is a password protected standalone and there is no need for an installation, Thereby risking the loss of data from your system if someone accidentally uninstalled the software. |
