Help! my computer says i have the trojan virus! please what can i do? i kno its bad!?

i've scanned it with the latest Norton Antivirus...and it says i don't have any spyware, viruses or intrusions...on the otherhand when i enter my homepage it tells me i have a virus that can affect files that end with .exe guys please help!

Your problem is not virus, trust me. I once had this problem. I am sure when u open Internet Explorer, it displays warning that ur computer is infected by blahblahblahblahblah and suggest u download a antispyware software. But dont trust this instruction and click the close icon at all times when this message appears. Instead ur computer is infected by a spyware which causes this message to appear. Go to http://www.dowload.com (which is a very trusted site) and search for Spybot software. Its size is about 10 MB but dont hesitate to download it coz it is totally worth it. Then install the software and make sure to update as soon as installed. Then, click the search and destroy option and sitback for a while. It will the display a list of threats. Once the scan is over, make sure to clear everything. Then restart ur computer. Then try opening Internet Explorer. I am sure ur nightmare is over....

Well its good that you did an virus scan (best first thing to try) but i think your norton might need to get updated or upgraded again to try to remove that finally virus have you tried using all of your anti-virus and anti-spyware software programs that your pc is holding do you also have an firewall because the windows firewall won't do its just crap. So try what i told you and it might be deleted also try to use other softwares from these websites:

Trust Norton. Change your homepage. Chances are that someone/thing has changed your homepage to something dodgy. It'll claim that you have a virus and that the only way to get rid of it is to download something. That'll be the virus. I'd be really curious to know what your current homepage is.

I think you need a third party scan befor you do anything, here is a free online scan and you will be able to find out what if anything you got in your compter.

.exe files are executibles. per what my husband has told me many times, people LOVE to hide viruses in .exe files. be VERY careful opening them! i guess it's easy to hide stuff in .exe files.

if all else fails...
