HelpI tried to install comodo firewall. did not know if I was supposed to turn off windows xp firewall, so I?

did and it say I have no firewall protection.

I thought I install the comodo ok (it is now doing a malware scan)

How do I know if it is installed ok and will that no I have no firewall when I go to control panel>security>firewall (where it says no in brown) before it said yes in green

will it say I have no firewall after comodo does the scan or did I do something wrong.

lease help as I have no one to help me..my son told me to download comodo but he did not give me enough directions and he is unreachable for two weeks.

oh
bobby that is exactly what subsequently happened. I totally paniced but after it completed the scan, it said I needed to restart it and when I did it was in my taskbar and it also said it was working and also went to control panel>security and the light was green ok and said yes I was protected by comodo.

too bad I didn't get you message before it happened and before I sent me son a panicked email..he reus the day he ever got me a computer lol

I have windows xp too,and I downloaded Comodo Firewall pro, last night,I also turned my firewall off,and after the malware scan I just kept doing what Comodo said,I think I rebooted, and later I checked my Firewall security box and it said I have Comodo installed and is working.

Unfortunately I don't have Win XP (I run Windows 2000) so I'm not familiar with your XP security center, but if you hover your pointer over the Comodo shield in the lower right corner by your clock, it should say "Your computer's security level is set to (either 'custom', 'block all', or 'allow all'). All systems are up and running."

You can also double click on the shield and that will bring up your Comodo firewall's main screen and you'll be able to tell there easily that everything is running properly.

Assuming that you've disabled your Windows XP firewall, I'm sure Comodo is running properly and you can rest assured that Comodo is protecting you until someone can tell you how to deal with your XP security center :-)
