17 year old daughter has a teacher that is hacking on our PC, lude remarks---Help!?

How can I get proof that this teacher is hacking? He is on her IM-and pretending to be her- to other guys. And the boys call all hours of the night. We also have over 50 text messeges from his daugters cell phone number, and yes I've gone to the police and they won't do anything. I live in a very small town and everyone knows each other. The police chief made a statement, "why would he do that? He has to much to loose." Well, it doesn't mean he is not doing it, nor does it mean that "he's not crazy!" I am working on getting a detailed cell phone bill, but he won't stop, I need help! If anyone knows how I can prove it's from his PC.....please tell me.

Thank you from a very concerned Mother!

the closest you could come would be to find the service provider he is using. Then it would be up to the police to serve a warrant to the ISP for information regarding the IP used by him. They will definitely NOT give you this information. They will only provide it to the authorities.

In any event if you want to see this guys IP, go into messenger as a guy (New account) and request him to be a contact. when you are chatting with him open a command console (start .. Run .. type cmd in the box and hit enter.) in the command console type netstat -a and hit enter. this will give you all connections to your pc.
Keep this command window open.
Open another one and type netstat -a but DO NOT hit enter just yet.

Get him to transfer a file to you or tell him you want to transfer a file to him. Make up any excuse to get him to accept the file transfer.

When the transfer starts.. hit enter in the 2nd console you opened. there will be another entry there. That's his IP.

You keep both consoles open so you can compare and easily see the new connection.

This will only give you his IP.. not anything you can use yourself to get private info... just his sevice provider.

Do a whois lookup (google it) of his IP to get the service provider he is using..

Mind you he could be proxied too so the address won't be his.

Also remember, if he really isn't breaking the law in the eyes of the police.. FBI.. whoever, you just have to deal with it and set up another account and block him from IM. If you can prove an unlawful act against a minor, it would be beneficial.

get a lawyer

lol, hacking?

non technical tech speak is always funny.

first i'm going to quote your name.. As if....

second, just change the password...

get her to changer her passwords. tell her not to logon at school.

and if worst comes to worst change make a new account and abandon the last one.

and if you can, change schools

you have every right to be concerned, that's a bit sick

That's awful. I agree get a lawyer. I don't know if you can change cell phones, email address, etc. so atleast you don't have to see it. I would also talk to principle and see if your daughter could change teachers.

Hacking? You mean impersonating?

tell her to change the password!

You need the IP address from where your daughter IM is accessed. Then the responsible ISP can tell which customer was assigned with that address. However, you need a legal order for requesting this information.

If you are a US resident, contact the FBI and tell them that your daughter might have a predatory stalker. I'd also advise the Police Chief that you will be contacting the FBI as well since he will undoubtedly be notified by them since he is the local law authority.

I agree with the others who think changing the account/password for your I'M is the best thing to do.

Obviously he has her information, there are tools schools use to monitor what the student is doing. But there are others like key-loggers that track every bit of info you type at the PC.

So again from home, change her email account password and then her I'M password. If she uses yahoo, hotmail, or gmail, she only needs to change her email password.

Get a router and lock your PC down.
Get Linux.
Change all passwords on all user accounts and don't give them out.
Tell her to keep a diary of where she is and who she is with at all times. Sooner or later there will be a contradiction of messages sent and her whereabouts.

Unless of course she is lying.

Oh yeah, contact the FBI. He is stalking her.
They do not like creeps who mess around with kids.

Your tax dollars pay for all of this. Protect your child and get the FBI involved now. He might be doing this to ALL the girls in class, in school, in the neighborhood. Stop him NOW.
