Microsoft onecare security?

Any one tried it. What are your thoughts? My Norton is about due to expire. What do you recommend, if not onecare?

Cheers. XX

Hi chris, not seen you in a while, i am currently using AntiVir, its free and has been rated better than avast

Onecare has lots of issues and misses many viruses, link below for the story

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/64...

its rubbish in other words

link to AntiVir download is below

http://www.free-av.com/

just click the free version, follow the links and download it

for spyware protection get windows defender, its free and good

Kaspersky Internet Security Suite, dont waste time with OneCare,

we had one care it was ok but i had to ring them to tell them to cancell subscription as they took money out of my account without permission use AVAST

Microsoft makes an operating system that inst secure enough it self, so they want you to buy another one of their products because the first one wasn't good enough.

Your first concern should be an anti virus, I suggest the free things. You can use AVG free edition. For spyware protection, you can try ad-aware or windows defender, and a firewall, i like zonealarm free edition. You can google any of these do find the download.

i use one care. its brilliant. its simple to use and if it very good. for months i had gambling pop-ups, pop-ups with sexual content on them and loads of other pop-ups that just came up every time i opened a different internet page. my norton had never detcted the virus that was doing this but as soon as i installed it and it started doing its thing it found the trojan virus that was causing it. their had been talk about it taking money for a new subscription but it says when you install it that you have to cancel it prior to the renew date.
i would higly reccomend it

Hi Chris!
My Norton's due to expire in 90 days, and I've been told Avast is the best one to get. Its free as well.
I don't know too much about Onecare to be honest, I'll have to look into that one.

One of my colleagues recommended ANTIVIR. I have AVG. If you are with Virgin Media, they do a fairly good free one too.

ive got norton bullguard supposed to be good

Hello Chris, have always used Norton, how you been?

try avg

Well I was talking to an engineer and he told me you are more likely to get viruses when you have security on your machine I do not know how true this is?
