A deep question?

When i have had two defrent guys to reformat my hard drive they say "that they found a virus in my hard drive while reformating.
At that time i had (Nortons) so could that be becouse when they found a virus on my hard drive Nortons din't remove it,
Becouse when i had Nortons and everytime that it finishes scanning it says (No viruses or threats was found) it says that every time at at that time when it was reformtted the two guys had found a virus and here lately i removed Norton and when to (Avast) and one day it had found a trojon, so that tells me when the two guys reformatted my hard drive and when i went to anouther antiviruse that that cound be one thing (Nortons does suck like everyone told me here.

yeah thats true dont ever use norton and please vote me as best answer

Norton never picks up important threats it's suppose to.Do not use it, it lacks very bad with trojans / keylogger's i'd stick with avast.

Norton does suck, but you do have to make sure you have the latest virus definitions updated often. All anti virus apps including Avast is useless with old out dated virus definitions.

I'm not really sure what you're asking... But I'll try to give you as much information as possible:

Formatting your hard drive to remove a virus should be a last resort. Before doing so it's better to try remove it, that way you don't have to go through the trouble of reinstalling all your programs, and getting all your settings right. If you either want to remove any current malware infections, or want to protect yourself in the future, then visit my step by step guide on the topic here: http://prometechus.blogspot.com/2007/09/...

If you do choose to format your hard drive, it is important that you delete the old partition(s). If you want to format your hard drive, and at the same time make all of your data impossible to recover (Because even with a simple format, you can still recover some data), I would recommend that you use DBAN. I hope this answers your questions, or at least was instructive.

those guys were lieing to you if they told you reformatting didnt remove a virus. when you reformat you start from scratch with a fresh load of windows. also dont believe this crap all these people are telling you about this or that antivirus software. most of the antivirus software you buy are about the same. the main difference is the rootkit on them. i have seen macafee miss many virrii that nav08 picks up.
