well, there's this thing in my taskbar that says some back door trojan is infecting my computer and sends info to a remote attacker... what should i do?
i need help. pls. Generally, you should ignore these ads. They are only trying to scare you into buying their own anti-spyware, which usually DOES contain spyware and tracking cookies. Best of luck Some anti-spyware you can trust, others you cannot. I use Webroot which is excellent but spyware Doctor is also good. Either one of these will do the trick. Webroot.com I got rid of the same thing on mine yesterday with this answer from a kind person who didn't bother telling me what I already knew like some of the ones that have answered your question:

Use the programs twice once without internet on, and once with it running. The only program that will work in safemode F8 is AVG anti-spy ware.
Also go to control panel, internet options-privacy tab-make sure the popup blocker box is checked.

Also on control panel-system-Remote-make sure both boxes are unchecked-click apply-OK (this will keep hackers from getting into computer when left on and no one is around or home)
