McAFee scan trouble?

hello i have McAFee my computer works well and ive payed 4 year protection and it worked well until now when i press scan, McAfee scans some files after 4 minutes of scanning it says:

''Scanning has encountered a problem from which it cannot recover. Here are the details:
-Error getting scan progress
When finished, you will return to home window

please help i need to scan my computer it has been a long time and i cannot fix it... any help will be strongly! appreciated

Most of the time you need to uninstall program and restart computer and then reinstall McAfee.

Make sure that before you do this you have the login/password to log into your McAfee account. You will need to log in and re-download your product to install.

Go to mcafee.com. They have online utilities that will check your software for errors and if needed you can chat with someone online for support.

My advise is that first make sure that you have your registration key before you go to add/remove. Remove McAfee, and reinstall the program.

Very possible the software is corrupt. And reinstalling should resolve your problem.
