How can I tell who broke into my email account? |
I'm fairly certain my ex-bf broke into my verizon email account. Is there a way to track this? Can I figure out who last logged into the account at all or from what computer? Someone told me something about an IP address, but said that's how you find out where an email message came from. Is there a way to track what IP address logged into your account though? Thanks! A couple answers are close. Not without getting suspended from your own account. Did you contact Verizon. They might be able to tell you everything and give you data. Date time, IP address (computer's location) you need to track your email by an external service that tracks an ip address, then IF he breaks in again the service will log the ip addresses that access taht account then with the ip address (if its static) you can find real world address (home address). Yep a software called Mcafee has a built in tracker for ips Your ex's ISP issues his IP Address. And most people have a dynamic IP address that their ISP changes every 24 hours or so. Pretty useless to anyone. |
