What is the best way to get Symantec off my computer?

I want to get rid of Hurton(Symantec)...but it blocks my every attempt to get tid of it...there must be a way ...

I have attached The Norton Removal Tool for Symantec Products.

Download and install. Follow the directions on the site.

Hope this solves your problem.

The site is located in the source below.

first of all you might want to uninstall Symantec try to connect to the control panel and delete the thing ortry to turn it off
I dont use Symantedc but hope this helps

no clue why you would want to get rid of a good program unless you are listening to one of the many people on here that give really poor advice and some of which give malicious advice purposely.

If you really want to get rid of it then you should simply and properly remove it via add/remove programs. If you are infected with something that is keeping you from being able to uninstall things or you are on a system where you do not have rights to uninstall things then you will have to resolve that first.

You should contact Symantec.. either via telephone or go to their website and look at the faq pages.

Good Luck

You have to go to their site. Down load their removal utility. You will need to know the year of the Norton you are running and maybe the OS but I don't remember. Once you do that the uninstall is a piece of cake.

1. Go under the start menu
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click Add/Remove Programs
4. Wait for the list to populate (be patient)
5. Scroll down until you find either Hurton or Symantec (it's alphabetized, if you haven't noticed)
6. Click on the program, and click change/remove
7. Wait for it to be removed, which may take a while (make sure all other windows are closed)
8. YAY! YOU'RE DONE!!!

The seventh graders answer it what it is..... a childs answer.

If you really want to clear Norton you follow Red Soxs link. Or you actually pick up the phone and call Symantec.

Your are correct to want to remove Norton

Norton is so bad Symantec even had to go out and create a removal tool for it because the normal uninstall often does not work
