Whats going on with my computer? A unwanted/unknown radio station keeps playing?

It continues when all windows are shut and ctrl, alt, del says no applications are running. Anyone know the cause of this? or possibly how to fix it? Cheers

I have Avast anti-virus, and I have ran full scans on Windows defender and A2 anti malware, I have just got rid of the smitfraud virus (I hope) could it be related to this?
And yes it is definetly coming from my laptop. the only way I've been able to stop it is by restarting the computer.
It has occured twice in 2 days, its not happening everytime I use the computer.

I think we may both have the same problem. I'm picking up music, a random group conversation and also a windows "start navigator" click. I've ran Pestpatrol, CA Antispy, Adaware 2007 and Norton spyware scan. I've also up the homehub to 128 wep and new stations by registration. At the moment I'm at a loss to know what the problem is; but I now know I'm not alone. I'll monitor task manager and post again. BTW do you use Utorrent?

You may want to have your computer checked for EVP. That could be the cause, but I suggest a trip to the technician.

run windows defender

Take your tin foil hat off

It could be a radio station, or a virus.

Does it come through the speakers. have you tried moving the speakers? Your computer? Is there a radio transmitter near you house? Have you altered the physical setting of your computer? Are any of the wires running near a radio or aerial?

The virus is very unusual, it plays a file that sounds like music. I am not sure of the details, perhaps someone else might know.

go to control panel, add/remove software.. see if anything is listed on that list is something u dont want, remove it..

go to download.com, download lavasoft ad-aware (free), install it, check for updates, run a full system scan... delete anything that comes up.
on download.com also download spybot search & destroy (free).. install it, update it, and then instead of running a scan, run a immunization (dont use spybot for its scan, only immunize)...
free.grisoft.com, download avg free edition anti-virus, update it, run a scan.. this antivirus finds much more viruses then norton or macafee..
also, delete all of ur interenet temp files and cookies by go to tools, internet options in internet explorer..

yeah every thing he said. :-)

it could be a radio station off of yahoo widgets if you have that.

press ctrl alt and del, and go to processes, click CPU colomn, and you will see the programs that are activly running come to the top, one of them is the culprit, (you might have to press the cpu colomn twice to get them to the top) the ones that are running with a lot of cpu % leave them, and leave the system ones, if they have 01% and keep coing to the top and droping then end that, if you find the name, put it into the search on the computer to find out were it is, or google the file name. but if you cant find it move on to the system ones, but it may cause your computer to have to reboot.

check if it is comeing from the net, checkl the networking tab and see if there is any activity when your not using the net.

Try systems restore from a time before the problem started.

"It" is caused by overuse of a PC or any other electronic artifact
