Does anyone know of any Genuine free anti virus systems??

I am looking for GENUINELY free anti virus systems that include anti spyware, every one I think is free asks for payment when it finds "problems". I know I'm a cheapskate but doesn't everyone like something for free?

This has been answered many times. Rusty H (above) started the list, you can also get free anti-virus from AVG and Comodo plus free anti-spyware from Comodo (boclean). Never, ever run anything that pops up while surfing saying you have a problem that this program will fix it.

I use AVG antivirus and spyware. It works fine and it is free. The antivirus stays resident, will automatically update and the spyware needs to be launched to run and for updates. I run that once per week.
