Beyond Keylogger: how to find out who's spying on me?

Keyloggers keep on showing up on my PC and I use Norton to remove it. I can't remember if the same ones pop up, but the latest was Beyond Keylogger.

It seems that this program has to be purchased? I'm assuming it can also be inadvertently bundled with programs/files if you download anything off the net.

Is there a way that I can open the log to see what it contains or find out who is it being sent to?

I'm not so much worried about people that I live with doing this as much as I fear strangers in cyberspace spying on me.

Is there a way that I can find out who? I don't care if these are advanced technical instructions..

"This is invisible surveillance tool that registers every activity on your pc to encrypted logs. It allows you to secretly track all activities from all computer users and automatically receive logs to a desire e-mail, Network Folder (LAN) or FTP account."

It's clear that the people who wrote the info for the product do not know how to use proper grammar... this is always a bad sign. However, you could always contact the manufacturer to find out if they have a manual or where those encrypted logs are and how to access them.

I would advise you to simply upgrade your security and get rid of the keyloggers and any other malware on your machine... the first thing I would advise you to do is to UPGRADE your Norton .. ie, make sure it's their Norton 360 product so it will catch all types of malware in real time and then ensure that it is properly configured and completely up to date. The same goes for ensuring windows updates are current and remain that way so that your OS is fully patched.

Then... lock down the computer. Have the other people in your house log on with their own unique accounts that do not have administrator privileges... this way they will not be able to install programs or disable Norton.

Change your windows logon password to something strong and ensure you enable the screensaver and set it to ask for your password after a few minutes.

Since this is a program that does appear to require someone purchasing it (as opposed to some random spyware infection) it is most likely coming from someone in your home or who has access to your machine.

Speaking of remote access... right click the my computer icon and go into properties and remote and make sure the remote access stuff is all unchecked.

Good Luck

Umm do you have a jealous boyfriend or a curious family member or roommate?

That could be your answer.

internet spying in an ongoing thing. You might try ad-ware, free version at cnet at zdnet.com this is a free anti-spy download that will rid your pc of spyware on a regular basis.

They don't neccaserily have to buy the keylogger, for example hackers could edit the software so it thinks its registered. You could get a keylogger from just going to a website or something
