How do I remove .exe from my taskmanager. I have alreaded defragmented my c drive and cleaned my registry keys

What? remove .exe? this doesn't make any sense....

is there a program with the .exe extension that you wanted deleted? The .exe just means you can run the program. (pretty much any program that you can double click on has a .exe).

.exe is just the file format for windows, if you want to end the process _____.exe than hit end process button..

what file was it? Defragging and removing registry keys does not prevent the program from executing. You need to run msconfig in Start-> Run -> type in "Msconfig" to configure it.

I think you may be thinking you have a virus or something is running that you don't know what it is. Try this program to figure what it is thats running.

.exe (as already explained) is an extension of a file, so "example.exe" is a program file. I don't think it's possible to have .exe on its own, unless there part of it is cut off, or you have registry problems with your computer.

Anyways, to close a process. Right click, "End Process" then click "Yes". That should pretty much shut the process down, unless there is a third-party process re-opening it.
