Internet banking emails?

Ive had an email from nationwide to say that my internet banking has been set up except i dont have any kind of account with nationwide so i sent them an email to say i dont have on why did this get sent (i sent it with the email attached) and today i have another to start using my account. has anyone else had this trouble???

to the person who gave me my third reply i dont want the account or opening the account i just wanted to know if other people are getting these sort of email and what they are doing about it like i said i emailed the bank to let them know i havent opened them or used the links so thanks for your crap input

I have been getting loads of emails from bank's that I dont have an account with, warning me that I need to go on an enter my details or my account will be frozen. they are all scam's to get you to give them your details just bin them and add to junk email senders.

I also forwarded the ones I got to the relevant banks but I still get about 3 a day.

Yeah i get four or five a day, especially to the company email. often bad grammar and spelling gives them away but its good for a chuckle.

I spose i should give the proper explanation as well its called "Phishing" they send you these e-mails with a link to sign in hopeing you are a customer for whichever bank they are pretending to be, this link then takes you to THEIR site that looks like the banks website, then they store the details you enter, and then use the details themselves to access your bank account.

Don't be such a cretin. If you havn't got an account how on Earth can you have an internet account?

It's numpties like you, getting sucked in by these scams that encourage the parasites that write them to infest the web.

million of people have these - they are NOT from Nationawide, they a "phishing" for personal details so they can rob you. Delete without opening

Almost certainly this is a scam of some sort. It's quite common.

Banks don't contact you by email unless you contact them first.

Check this out by contacting Nationwide.

Don't reply to any (more) emails of this sort. If you've got an anti-virus/ anti-spyware program, run a deep scan.

Just delete it. its a scam.

These are all 'phishing' (corrupt) emails. What ever you do, DO NOT give out any of your bank details, or any other information requested. Put these emails where they belong - in the 'Deleted' bin.

It's a simple number-crunching scam on unsuspecting people .... they send out enough emails and they are bound to hit some people with an account of sorts with the named bank etc ........ just delete and recognise them in future.

They are just spam. Do you also reply to the emails offering you a bigger willy, saying you don't have one of those either?

Attention, you're in trouble:somebody is trying to fool you. These emails are usualy a scam or if you are unlucky, a sign of stolen identity. Declare them as spam and delete them immediately. If you want to be sure contact the bank through the phone not through ANY links in the emails or go to a branch in person.

have you tried using "internet banking"? if not, then ignore all the emails you gonna receive. the legal ones will never contact a person unless he/she has an account on that bank and had requested for internet banking. internet banking is a very delicate issue and no one must know your details. no one can also avail of the internet banking process unless he/she has to request right thru the bank in person and this person will be given an ID and password. even to access on the net, you will be warned too not to open the site UNLESS there is a "secured sign on". you will notice this mostly at the bottom of the page and even over the address bar (if you have internet security also). since you had opened it already and even replied thru the site of that bank, expect more mails in the future from them and others too. they'll gonna send again and even spread out your email address to some other scam sites that masked themselves as banks. so if you will receive another email which you don't have knowledge where this email from and you have no idea, whether it is a scam as you think or not, DO NOT ever try to open. just marked it for delete.

*i am using internet banking too but never experienced trouble nor received any scam mails from banks which i don't know.
<>try to be wise even for sometimes my dear.

Possibly an aggressive promotion.

Just ignore them or file complain to the bank via its website or directly to its office.
