How do you unlock your computer after your parents locked it?

I tried to log into the administrator account on my laptop, and it said it couldnt log me in because my computer had been locked up. How do you unlock it???

a simple reboot will usually do it.

there are programs that exist that will require the unlock code to be entered at start up but they are not commonly used.

if you have vista on the laptop it has a lock feature in it which requires a simple password, usually the same password that you use to log in with.

you mentioned the administrator account which, if you meant a separate account from your personal account, will require a different password since it is a different account.

but if your account IS the administrator account then you should be able to just type your own password in to unlock the computer for access.

reboot

yea reboot it, i think u restart then press f10

turn off and turn on the computer.

Your parents obviously had a reason for locking up your computer. If you figure out a way to unlock it you are going to be in more trouble...they might even just take your laptop away. Is this a good idea?

Tell your parents that there is alot of infor on the net and that you can learn valuable information on the computor. Maybe they will unlock it.
my son is required to do all homework on our computor. His teachers expect everyone at home to have a computor.
