How do i find out the ip address to a computer an email was sent from ?

im serious, my yahoo account was hacked into and somebody had been sending emils and i dont kno about till it is too late.

If you open the options in your email, and set "full header", they click on "ok" or "finish", being that you don't say which service the emails come over.

The full header will give you all the servers and ports that the email passed through.

Look for the IP that shows where the email originated from.

If you are able to find the IP address, and you wish to send me the IP address, I will trace the IP address to the exact location of where the computer is located.

Will send the information back to you.

I have software in my PC, to trace the IP address to the originating PC, area & location.

Depends on how the email was sent

Viewing message details is your best bet and finding the original source. Again it all depends on how it was sent to get the IP

You can look at the full header information of one of the sent emails to see if the IP address is showing up.

You are better off contacting yahoo and having them secure your account... securing your own computer by ensuring you have proper security installed and up to date from a reliable vendor like McAfee or Norton and getting rid of any malware that may be infecting your system...

I would also suggest you then reset all of your passwords (only once the computer is secured) and go thru the account settings to ensure that there have been no additional email addresses added such as secondary or forwarding and that the security questions are changed.
