Is there anyway at all to block other users on my home computer from deleting the browsing history?

I seem to have a problem with dishonest people in my home...

I do have a guest account, which is where "he" logs on, but he can still delete the browser history, etc. on that profile. How do I keep him from doing this? OR....is there a FREE 'net nanny' out there? Pornography is my main issue here.

Create a guest account that they use that does NOT have administrative rights.

Lock your own account and make your folders private (which will lock access to anything within the my documents / documents and settings folder for your account). This is done in the user accounts section of control panel.

I would suggest you set your computer's screensaver to kick in after about 5 minutes and to ask for your windows password.

I would also suggest that if you do not want them to access your computer AT ALL that you create a BIOS password as well.

Good Luck

The most secure way to protect your sensitive files (and browsing history) is to password protect your ENTIRE Windows account, allowing no one else access to it. Just go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Change an account. After you set-up a password then choose to make your folders private.

Now, if you must let anyone else use your PERSONAL computer (not recommended), you should set up a Guest Account for them with limited privledges. Go to Start > Control Panel > User accounts > pick an account to change > Guest. Not only will a Guest Account keeps your data safe from prying eyes, your computer will also be more secure as the limited privledge Guest account will not allow the inadvertant installation or download of any programs by others. Nor will they be able to screw-up your settings!

Good luck.

if your are using windows nt, 2000, xp or vista you can create individual accounts for users. just create accounts individual users.

Noooooosey. Lol. Anyway, I think the first answerer is correct.
