Is it possible for people too see all the saved info and documents on my computer?

Can someone see the saved documents and other information on my computer from their own computer?

Does having MSN mean that people can browse all my files and see all my documents. And when you download from limewire if its saved in the shared folder does that mean other people who i may not know will be able to access these files on my computer?

Please let me know, im really worried about this.

And if other users of limewire can download the stuff saved in the shared folder will they know that its from my computer and be able to access other things that have not been downloaded from limewire?

Others should not be able to see your saved documents, unless your computer is being hacked. Laptops using public hotspots may increase your chances of being hacked. Those on MSN should not be able to see your files.

Limewire uses a folder to store all the files you download. This folder IS shared and others using Limewire can see and take anything out of this folder. Check too see what folder you are sharing !! You can find out what you are sharing by opening up Limewire and going to > "Tools" > "Options" > "Sharing"

It will only be possible for people on your home network to have a chance to see your files. Even then, you have to have file sharing enabled, which if I'm not mistaken is not enabled by default on modern operating systems.

If you don't feel comfortable with your files in the shared folder, you can change your download folder in lime wire's settings.

If its not networked, then no - not via MSN and not anything else either UNLESS you grant them remote access. Limewire can see what you have saved - but only their stuff!

Yes, the folder that you use in Limewire for sharing can be used to download to other Limewire users. So don't place things in that folder that you don't want anyone to see.

No people can't see your files unless you have programs like Kazaa or Limewire where you accidentally allow people to view all of your files "this is how a lot of private home videos has ended up on the internet"

Only through hacking and trojans (virus) will people be able to access them without your consent.

If you choose to use the MSN feature then it will ask you to specify which folders you want to share for viewing. This is all within your control. Get a good antivirus program and a firewall and you are safe.
