How to get rid of a trojan horse virus?

Please help...there is a trojan horse virus on my mom's computer. Everytime we're on a website, a ton of windows keep opening, and AVG has said this virus is on the computer. Also, is this something my stepfather could have personally sent to her via email? (They're going through an extremely nasty divorce & stops at nothing to make her life hell). most likely your stepfather did not place the virus on an email for your mom. the most plausible explanation is someone either downloaded it with a music file or opened a junk email. I suggest following the AVG's instructions an sending it to the vault. find the path. go into your registry and delete it yourself. or just keep it in the vault.

Make sure that you have a good anti virus and anti spy ware program installed on your computer.
