BT Home Hub Problem?

My BT home hub has just asked me to change the password for security reasons which i have done but now i can not use the hub manager to disconect from the net,it asks me for a username and password which it won't accept no matter what i use. the default password won't work either.....
I'm begining to think i'm been fleeced in some way here,have any of you had the same problem

try unplugging from the mains leave off for 1 minute then switch on.
If that does not work then uninstall BT internet then reinstall using your cd which should reset your hub which is what i done once.
