What is the best free anti virus except for free avg?

Not trying to get off topic, but I found that once I had enough experience, I didn't need antivirus anymore. If you know what your doing online, what you're downloading, etc then all you need is a firewall. It'll save you a lot of lag on your system and if you know enough of what you're doing, you wont get even a single virus.

For a firewall I recommend Comodo Firewall Pro (free)

Here is a free antivirus from Germany that is rated as good as Kaspersky or NOD32. (I use purchased from http://www.filseclab.com).

Avira download the free version. I installed this antivirus in a friend's PC, she had over 500 viruses in her laptop. Avira removed every one of them.

Clamwin is working ok for me. Incremental Backups on CD-RW or DVD-RW are the absolute best, should be done no matter what.
Microsoft even has a sorta free one, as they should.
Avira is stable and leaves a small 'footprint'.
