How to stop Pop Ups?

I keep getting pop ups appearing in a different window, even though internet and anti virus settings are set up to stop any pop ups coming through, yet still they come through about every 1 - 2 mins. Happens randomly. And is getting annoying. Anyone got tips? or recommend a program?

Hello,
Try SuperAntiSpyware.
http://superantispyware.com/

Google toolbar.

Make the switch to Firefox and all your problems will go away:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

what browser are you using? i suggest you use firefox...its' pop up blocker feature is very effective...

Yahoo Toolbar really helps

Do you have a ' pop-up blocker ' on you're toolbar.?You can set it to block them by clicking on it.You should get it with yahoo mail.If not you can download the new yahoo toolbar from yahoo which should have this option. You should be able to download it form your presnt toolbar icons. If not, try the yahoo searchbar for the new toolbar.

google toolbar is good idea- also go to top of page, click on tools then click on internet options, click on security ,change it to med. high, apply then ok.
Now click on privacy tab, move it med. ,this should stop most pop-ups.In xp it has a box at bottom of privacy box to turn on pop-up blocker.
delete all cookies and temporary internet pages
Now you have to run spyware-virus remover to ; hope this helps

Well, I have Norton (Anti-Virus / Internet Security) and I never get pop-ups. It cost me about $70 for two years, but I've never had any problems (virus' etc), so I think it's definitely worth it.

Like others have said firefox is great :)

Use Firefox + Adblock Plus(addon).
Its amazing.

You may be having a virus or spyware installed on your PC. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firef ox for free, Just have a try:

you can also try Kaspersky Internet Security:
