Will the computer repair store find my private stuff?

My Acer PC has to go in for repair (no kidding, right?). Anyway, I am wondering is there any way to password protect, or do something, so ALL of my private things, in fact anything personal at all on the hard drive, aren't visible to them, without password protecting each file and folder separately?
It feels scary to think that the repair man can have access to my whole life and work information?
Please help and has anyone else ever wondered this?

They absolutely will snoop through everything that they can. If they like your pictures they will copy them. If they like your music they will steal it.

Only way to be safe is to just move it to another storage device, jump drive, external harddrive or even burn a data cd.

It would be illegal for them to look at any personal information, but just make sure all the accounts on your computer are password-protected unless they need access to it for the repair.

More than likely they will, so...get Winrar, and follow the directions on the site in the source list.

Believe me the computer repair man couldn't possibly careless about your information, personal or otherwise.

By now he's probably seen so much garbage that nothing is new to him anyhow. If you're worried about people getting stuff from your pc then stop storing it on there. Use a thumb drive or something else.

u can use drive encryption or folder lock softwares so that one needs a password to open it
