How do I go on blocked sites at school? [with my own computer/no proxy]?

I have my own computer that I take to school. The school only blocks two sites: Myspace and Facebook, and if you go to these sites it redirects to the school website; it doesn't say "social networking is blocked" or anything like that- it is just two specific websites everything else is okay. I know there is a way to get on these websites WITHOUT a proxy, but I'm not sure how. All I know is that it is something within internet options and the system registry or something like that.

well using the IP addresses work to get you to the home page, but you can't go to any links or login or any of that.

Try it by the Ip numbers instead of www.myspace.com

If that fails, I am afraid we are back to proxies.

you type in the website you want to go to and it'll take you there.

i used it all the time in high school.
they blocked the same sites.

hold i know where there shud be one................nvm it got removed

No it's not. The school has set up a filter at the server controlling the internet traffic into and out of there which looks for those sites and then redirects the traffic at the server. There's nothing in your internet options that can alter what goes on at the server. The only way you can get around it is by using a proxy server (which is most likely blocked by the IT people at your school as well) or by using a VPN connection to your home computer.

Another way would be to get your parents to get you a wireless card from Verizon or AT&T so that you don't have to use the school's network.

I always use these ones:

To unblock websites (such as myspace) from school (or other secure computers) just use a proxy.
Most proxies however get blocked pretty quickly because security crawls the web and blocks them.
There are newsletters such as at http://unblockmyspace.com newsletter that sends you new proxies so you always have one to use.

well here are some proxies... hopefully they are unblocked for you:

http://www.pleaseunblock.com
http://www.new-proxy.info
http://www.thebypasser.info
http://www.myspace-at-school.info
http://www.proxykey.com

you need fresh unblocked proxies everyday as proxies tend to be blocked in a matter of days.

Here is a group my friends and I use at school and all the proxies so far work like a charm.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!
