What are the parts of a website that excite you, what make you stay longer on it,what's a no no?

It all depends on what the website is for.
I generally use the web to find information. In that case, I like a website that is well constructed, presents its information in an easy to find, easy to read way, one that is easy to navigate, and has a reasonable load time. When I'm browsing and a site takes longer than a few seconds to show something, I leave immediately.

Excite: Anything that gets to the point without delay.
Stay: Clean layout, not cluttered, easy to find what I'm looking for.
No No: Errors on the page, Dead Links, Long load times (especially when it's a flash app).

I like a website where I can get all the information I need for a research project (wikipedia, for example) I also like a website where I can have fun.

The website needs to load fast ( especially on videos/ flash apps.) and it should have no errors.

Lost interest; Automatic music players, poor grammar, dead links, flashing backgrounds, hidden buttons.

Kept interest; Organization, clarity, professionalism.
