MS Word - themes & background applied to 1 page only ?

How can I apply a theme /a background / printed watermark to 1 page of the document only, and not to the whole document ?

By default Word puts the watermark in the header and also by default the same header on each page of the document.

In order to change that, after you have added your watermark to the WHOLE document, you have to divide your document into sections opposed to page breaks.

For example if you have a title page, table of contents and then the document itself and you want the watermark to only appear on the table of contents page...

Go to "normal" view so that you can scroll down the page and see the page breaks. Click on the one after the title page and then select delete.

Go to Insert and click on Break, in the popup tick the one under Section Break Types that says: Next Page.

Scroll to the page break between the table of contents and the rest of the document and repeat the above steps.

Now go back to Pint Layout View so you can see the watermarks. Click on View >> Header & Footer.

Scroll to Section 2 (which in this example is the Table of Contents page). You will see a note in the top right hand section, above the header on your title page that says Link To Previous. Click on the icon (I think it is about the 8th one from the left) that when you hover it, it says Link To Previous. Once it is clicked on the little note above the header should disappear.

Scroll down to each section after that, that you created and do the same thing.. unlink to the previous. Then close your header/footer toolbar.

Now you should be able to delete the watermark on the pages you do not want it to appear on since they each basically have their own header now because they are no longer linked. Click (select) with your cursor the watermark you want to remove, once it is selected, hit delete.

Do that on all the pages you do not want the watermark to appear on and you should only be left with the one page you do want it on.
