How Do I Upload A Facicon To My Website?

On my website i want to upload a favicon im with 1&1 hosting and i don't know how to do it.

I assume that you already have a website up and running with 1&1 hosting.

If this favicon is going to appear on some or all of your existing pages, you'll need to change those first of all using whatever webpage creation package you used to create the site in the first place eg Frontpage, Dreamweaver etc.

Once you've amended the pages you then upload the amendments to 1&1 using the upload site commend.

same as you upload all the other files. put it in the doc root and call it favicon.ico

Here is a website which will take an image/logo and reduce it into a favicon for you - http://www.htmlkit.com/services/favicon/

you will need to create an icon in a image editing program or whatever and then save the file as a .ico file with the name favicon

once youve done this upload the icon to the root directory of your site and it should appear next time you load your site in the web browser
