Does the Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) program have an advantage in trying to find a job?

Are there advantages of taking part in the LPIC programes. I mean level one and two.

To be more specific, what the chances of getting a job based on the Linux Professional Institute Certificates in this program?

(ANS) If you stand back a little here and bear in mind that with the cost of computing rising especially in terms of business's & companies & Corporations having to pay out vast amounts to Microsoft in end user licenses on software such as Windows desktops i.e. XP and windows 2003 server, ISA server, Exchange server for mail and so forth.

Then many companies & business have moved over to Linux as a way of NOT being locked into the Microsoft products paradigm. Many many companies now run large numbers of Linux based servers. However, they are Always short of Linux expert support staff and this is where any professional training scheme or program gains extra creditability.

**Linux has now become far more widely recognized and widely respected as a very real solid alternative to Microsoft.

**Linux is used in a wide number of DiGi or set top boxes both for cable & satalite TV services.

**Large numbers of ISP's use Linux based machines for hosting websites for clients & customers.
