When I print a PDF German Document , the printout is not showing those German Letters with "umlaut" on top.

There are these German Letters with the two dots on top of them.
In the screen they appear ok but when i press the print button, it appears with Greek letters instead. Any suggestions which settings shall I try?

It may be one of two things.

Your missing a font on your computer. If you can find out the font the writer of the PDF is using and install it on your machine. One way to try this is to open Word, and insert a umlaut, as a smybol.

Click Insert in the menu bar, and select Symbol.

Select Arial ast he font and find the umlaut in the list.

Insert this and try to print the Word doc. If it prints OK then you have the necessary font installed.

If you now the person writing the PDF, ask him/her to embed the font when creating the PDF.

If this doesn't work, see if you can copy the text from the PDF and paste it into Word, and print from there, not an ideal solution but it should work.
