Zebra LP2443 Printer, why won't it print?

It prints fine when connected directly to any computer, but when i put it on my Hawking Parallel Print server it doesn't work. Another printer on that server prints fine.

It wil print the test page when sent from the properties menu , but not anything from word. Any thoughts?

You can't just plug printer into the printer port on your system unit and expect it to work. No, that would be far too easy. You also need to install a printer driver instructions that tell your program how to use your printer. ( If you have a printer that supports plug-and-play, Windows leads you through the installation at startup.)
In Windows, you install one printer driver that tells Windows how to communicate with the printer. All of your applications then communicate with the printer through Windows. When you set up a printer, Windows asks for the following information:
Printer make and model. Windows comes with printer drivers for most common printers. In addition, your printer might include a CD containing an updated printer driver.
Printer port. This is the connector at the back of the system unit into which you plug the printer. Standard printers connect the LPTI ( parallel printer ) port, but many newer printers use the USB (Universal Serial Bus) port. ( A few oddball printers connect to the serial port.) If you're not sure which port to select, but you know that the printer is plugged into the port labeled with a tiny printer Icon, try LPTI. If the printer is plugged into the serial port, try COMI, COM2, or COM3.
