What is myspace used for?

im doing a debate on wether or not myspace is safe,
and my partner is saying it isnt,
so i have to say it is

and my 2 main points are responsibility, what myspace staff is doing to make it safer, so im gonna do what/how myspace is used.

myspace is no less safe than any "chat room" that all the teens have been using for years... in fact, myspace is SAFER than most of those chat rooms...

anytime there is live interaction, like with chat rooms and instant messengers, that is and WILL ALWAYS be a higher risk for kids than myspace could EVER be

in the end, the question is moot, because anything on the internet involves some sort of risk, just like getting into a car or a plain - there's ALWAYS RISK - it's up to each individual user to use common sense (that not everyone has) and be responsible with their behavior online, whether it's myspace, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, Skype, XBOX Live..... anything

and who is supposed to teach kids these morals?

that's right... the parents

....who want nothing to do with any of this technology because it's too "scary"....

Myspace is used to communicate with long time friends and meet new friends. You can make your myspace private for people that are not your friends to not see your profile or pictures.

it depends on the person useing it, it as safe as you make it if you dont talk to strangers and put it on private and know your friends you are totally fine

My space is used to communicate with people and learn more about your friends and too look at pictures

Myspace is used by communicating with friends and having your own blog. it's fun once in a while.

Well its used to talk to people..hopefully people you know. which you search for them.

On it you can hide alot of stuff and make your profile private to only the people on your friends list and when someone adds you to see your profile you can just deny them or if someones giving you that creepy vibe you can block them. you can also report pictures that contain nudity or anything like that and you can report people.

Theres alot of safe things on it to have a safe profile.
especially having a private profile and private picture (which you set as that)

myspace is used for lots of things hmm ... promoting making money ' helps with bands keep in contact with old friends and make new friends also its very fun some people just use it for s4s'n and chating lol but its very safe than other chat websites. but definitely not a waste of time = )
