Do you think the new Dell 2408wfp monitor is worth getting?

102% of the color gamut range but it's still a S-PVA type panel, and I was hoping for an S-IPS one...

Price is still at $700...

My two cents is to not take any new technology (or monitor) as soon as it comes out but to wait for about a year or so. If you take it right away be prepared to pay a fairly high price premium. There are now some very nice flat panel monitors in the $300 range that in most cases should work quite nicely.

no don't go with dell monitors because no offense but they really suck. here is one example which i tried at schools and stores.if you put a metal clip or anything steel/metal into the usb port the monitor turns off so it's not good because it's built to last not to interfere. buy yourself a samsung which they are good and have crisp colors. all samsungs are rated 4.0and up because of their good quality and reliability good luck and hope you're please if you buy samsung. here is the bestbuy samsung monitor section and their all below $500 =)

Buy yourself a samsung for good quality and reliability... I think Samsung SyncMaster 245BW 24 inch Widescreen LCD Monitor is pretty good. A decent deal for it is only $500.
