Why can't I choose my own MSN display name when I login on my personal e-mail address?

I recently signed up for a Windows Live ID using my business e-mail address which is gavin@fxit.co.uk. I can login to MSN messenger, but the box where you change your display name is greyed out. Does anyone know why? If so, how can I alter my display name?

Well actually it's not greyed out. It's because there is nothing there. You have to enter your display name if this happens. I had a similar problem like this before. If this problem still persists you should uninstall msn and re-install is again. Remember if this persists re-install! Have Fun!

You won't be able to change your name if your Windows Live ID has not been verified. In
order to get verified, you need to click the verification link in the verification e-mail

log in at meebo.com and click on msn and then you can change your name

I think, though I'm not sure, that you have to have a hotmail account created on MSN in order to change your display name. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that may be it.

Well Same Thing Happened To My Sister You Need To Verify Your Email And Password If its Not @hotmail.com /co.uk or at live.com

go on to msn press create account then press use my email address OK Hope Ive helped you x
