Whaere do my boxes go when i minimise a web page?

does anybody know? when i minimise a web page or an msn window the page disappears. if somebody sends me a message via msn it doesnt come up in the tool bar so i dont know they have messaged me.
help im lost?????

it minimizes to the task bar, look to the bottom left and you will see icons there click on msn, and it will reappear

as for programs to the bottom left
