Still have a virus on my pc?

after getting a carrier virus through msn i completly deleted msn messenger. then did a full scan using avast. which didnt seem to help. ive re- downloaded msn messenger but it just keeps re booting itself over and over. can anyone help?

I've had the exact same problem about a month ago! it used 100% of my processor and my computer kept rebooting it's self automatically. Avast! anti-virus is really good, because i have it myself. Make sure you update and immunize before doing anything else i've asked. Then download CCleaner to clean out all your internet files that might cause it to slow down: http://www.ccleaner.com. Boot into safe mode tapping F8 while it's at boot, click safe mode, then home XP edition, then lots of driver files will go down the screen, wait till it goes, then it will have 4 safe mode codes on the side of the monitor screen. Log on to admistrator, After everythings loaded, which shouldnt take long, scan with avast! scan local drives, and click all the folders, And make sure it's on through mode and tick ''scan archive files'' And sit back and let it do it's thing, whatever it finds, click delete all. Always delete it, do not repair. After that's finished, scan for spyware, trojan and adware using spybot search and destroy. When everythings found on that, click ''fix problems'' Then use CCleaner, and press ''run'' after everythings removed from that. Restart back into safe mode. Now, whatever you removed from the scan's proberly was the cause of you're computer rebooting automatically. IF, whatsoever, it does it again, while it's restarting, tap F10 lots of times, then a recovery screen will come up, go through the options and it should bring you back to the date it last happened. If all of them fails, I'd recommend you to re-install you're operating system and start from scratch.

Do a system restore. If you can, restore your system back to a time before you had the problem.

disable system restore; boot in safe mode; run scans. Run online virus scans by TrendMicro or BitDefender if the problem remains. Enable system restore once the virus is removed.

that virus is funny.exe which replace ur system file smss.exe and lsass.exe
it will use ur 100% processor
better opotion is to formating and intalling new operating system
