MSN messenger and AIM?

Can AIM work with MSN messenger?Cause I have MSN messenger and my friend has AIM and MSN's updated their IM thing and I have no idea if we can talk or not.When I talked to her on the phone I was like "Oh.Hmmm.I dunno if thats going to work or not."MSN is now "Windows Live Messenger".
In other words if this helps,can Windows Live Messenger work with AIM?If so,how?Or give me instructions how to do it.

It can not cause they use the different gateways and codes. Aim is another company which means they have different connections with different messengers. If you IM someone in MSN your probably IMing a ghost chat. which means your talking to no one.

No, Windows live messenger is compatible with Yahoo not Aim. But if your asking if they can run simultaneously yes they can.
