MSN won't let me "call" anyone.?

I have MSN Messenger Live Plus. When people call my computer, it always says "The Call Has ended." before it even starts. And when I call people it just keeps ringing over and over again. Than FINALLY it tells me "Messenger is not available right now. Please try again later. (0x8ac70101"
I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I have a laptop, with a built in microphone.

1. Upgrade your modem firmware.
2. Uninstalle and reinstalle WLM
3. Disable your anti-virus applications

Definitely sounds like a virus. Do as Troubled suggested and remove msn messenger as well as windows installer, then install programs back onto your computer. Run an anti-virus scan in safe mode...

I am too old for you but I can say Yahoo does take a lot less system resources to run than MSN does. I think you will also find more people use Yahoo over MSN too. Good Luck.
