I have no idea whats happened with my comp? |
my friend julian sent me this file tihng on msn saying Definitely sounds like a virus. Do as Troubled suggested and remove msn messenger as well as windows installer, then install programs back onto your computer. Run an anti-virus scan in safe mode. But before booting in safe mode, turn off system restore because some viruses like to hide in your restore points...thus re-infecting your computer. To do this, click Start, My Computer. Under system tasks, click View System Information. Click the System Restore Tab, and check the box next to Turn Off System Restore. You'll get a warning like "Turning off system restore will delete restore points" Click Apply then OK. use an antivirus tool like avast antivirus or norton, and remove the virus from the system. If it cannot be detected/removed by anything, go in for the overkill: Format your hard disk and re install windows. :D works for me. Yes you have a virus... We copped the same one.... Go into .. CONTROL PANEL... into.. ADD AND REMOVE PROGRAM FILES...... and delete WINDOWS INSTALLER .. and .. WINDOWS MESSENGER... and the re-download WINDOW LIVE MESSENGER... It was the only way that we could get rid of it. No antivirus software would pick it up... and anyone with same problem will have to do the same hi |
