I have a WebTV, and I was wondering..?

I have a old WebTV that hasn't had the time of day for 7 years, I've used it one time when I had AOL Dial-Up, but I did not receive one charge from any company during its rare usage. Now I have Verizon DSL, and back then MSN took over WebTV, if I use that same old WebTV again when I have DSL, will I be able to use it for free without being charged a dime for it's usage?

Most likely your WebTV came with a free trial period that was never exceeded.

WebTV has always had a monthly fee of $9.95 when users provide their own ISP.

The bigger problem is the original WebTV will not work with Verizon DSL, just old fashioned dialup.

Microsoft rebranded WebTV to MSNTV after buying it in 1997.

There is a new box called MSNTV2. MSNTV2 has the latest technology designed primarily for broadband - both DSL & cable.

You would need the new MSNTV2 and $9.95 a month with DSL to get the internet on your TV. (Surfing the web on my 65鈥?HDTV is a blast with MSNTV2 connected to cable broadband and my home network.)

MSNTV2鈥檚 sell for about $50 on eBay.
