Is it possible to open 2 MSN messenger with ONLY 1 email account?

I have heard of ways to open many MSN messengers with different email addresses.
But is it possible to open 2 MSN messengers with 1 email address?

My friend gave me his password to his hotmail.
When he logs in to MSN messenger, his nick is eg: I feel good.
When he logs off, I used the same hotmail address with the same password to log in to his MSN messenger.
To my surprise, his nick is not "I feel good" but something else. The display pictures are also different.

What exactly is happening here?

To the extent of my knowledge, its impossible for one email account to be logged in twice at the same time. The nickname being different probably occurred for other reasons. For example, if your friend has ever logged into his account on your computer in the past, then when you logged in it had the nickname from back then. If he hasn't ever been on your computer before it could be the Microsoft server settings recognizing a different computer, perhaps a different version of MSN Messenger.

Profiles details (like Avatars -- your picture) are stored on the comptuer you are using....

MSN messenger only allows one person to be logged in at a time (using the single email address)..If more than 1 person tries to log in with the same email address then the other person will be noitified that someone else is logging in and as such they are disconnected (and then you get access)..

the nick on that machine is an older one cause it couldn't have been updated yet..
