MSN contacts help!!!!!!!!!!?

When i always try to add a contact to my contacts it always says
"please type the e-mail address in the following format:name@example.com" and im not quiet sure what to do then please help me!.

format:name@example.com means
the username is the name and example is the address after the @ symbol. for instance. if someone gave you the address me@mail.com thats how you would enter it into the address form.

hope this makes sense......

like name@hotmail.co.uk or name@yahoo.co.uk in other words the name and the email address

to add someone u just type wat eva there email address is
@hotmai.com

eg. ilovedogs@msn.com

like you know...@ example means hotmail, msn, yahoo...
