Can people get your msn addys from anywhere apart from obviosly me giving it to them ?

Make sure you dont post your account info on 3rd party sites (e.g. if you play an online game and are in a community which has a site). Usually these are where other users can pick them up. Also avoid placing them on sites like bebo/myspace/faceparty

As a previous poster suggested there are bot scripts that can generate and cycle through msn accounts but chances are they get flagged and pulled before they get anywhere near your address.

more often than not the first paragraph is how people get the address. =)

i think you can guess- you can put a name in and see what comes up-people can get lucky especially if its a unique msn name

Not *yours* specifically, but there's nothing (AFAIK) to stop someone adding a list of contacts like

silverstar1@somewhere.or.other
silverstar2@somewhere.or.other
silverstar3...

And there's bound to be a valid one in there SOMEWHERE. The question is who'd have the patience.

Of course, if your MSN address is also your email, be sure not to use it for online forms and sign-ups.
