amazon are a fairly reputable site, but you can never be sure with the internet

I'd get a model from the CR-series - in fact, i did. They are just as powerful, but have a smaller screen so are therefore smaller, lighter, more portable, and more efficient with power, giving a longer battery life.
And more ot the point, they are around the 拢700 mark if you shop around, so you could by one from the local retailer, instead of having to shop online.

I use ebay and amazon on a regular basis, but would never spend that much money on something from the internet if i had never seen the actual item in person.

The only thing the CR-series is missing is the blu-ray - but to be honest, until the HD/Blu-Ray competition has died down, i'd be reluctant to buy anything based on one of these technologies, as it is very possible - even likely - that one of them might not be around that long.

You could even get a BX-series, with fingerprint scanner security hardware for under 拢700 - realisticallythe thing you are paying the extra 拢500 for with the FZ series is the blu ray, which in my opinion isnt that worthwhile anyway.

Have a chat to your local sony centre - they tend to be very honest about the pros and cons of all their laptops
