What do you see in windows laptops? |
Well, As I have converted everyone around me to mac, and my company uses mac, I no longer get to see the Windows side of the Mac/Win debate. So, I'm asking this honestly and without sarcasm, why do you like windows laptops more then mac? Price is the only argument I can personally think or, with duel-booting and all. linux all the way baby You had it at price. I find Pc's easier to use. Everything is easier to find throughout the computer, they run pretty well, and they are more organized. Laptops, or even hardware for that matter, are irrelevant these days: both platforms can use the same interchangeably. I have a Vista machine, but I could put MacOS on it. You have a Mac, you can put Vista on it. The question comes down to what programs do you want to use, and Window offers more, hands down. 90% of the business world uses Windows. There are massively more game and software titles available for the PC. Everthing costs more for the MAC. Most places dont carry MAC products. There are more peripherals available and drivers are available for more products. If you only learn MACs you are severly limiting the job market for yourself. Both platforms will handle mundane tasks quite well but MACs cant handle server duties yet. Leopard? Well we are running Win Serv 2003 and the Macs we use -the little that we have, thank god- never play well on the network. We can get some macs but not all to join our domain. We had an Apple rep come out and he couldnt help us either. We are not going to invest in an OSx server and I have come to the conlusion that Macs are never going to play well with AD (Active Directory). |
